GrowForce is a geographically diversified and vertically integrated cannabis platform based in Canada, operating within Health Canada’s Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR). GrowForce owns a majority interest in multiple cannabis facilities with strategic partnerships for turnkey operations, proprietary software, training and project financing throughout Canada and other federally legal international markets.
We are looking for a strong, results orientated paralegal who can lead the contract lifecycle across all stages of deal review. This position will focus on working through key issues with external legal teams, developing and executing a contract management process, legal entity management and coordinating all Board Meetings. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be team oriented, have great organization skills, and have the ability to easily switch gears and manage competing priorities. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information, as well as the ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside the company, is essential.
Assist with preparation, amendment, execution, and maintenance of contracts and other documentation; and examining legal instruments and other documents to ensure completeness and accuracy
Liaise between External Counsel, Business teams, Operations, Corporate Development, and other departments in the preparations of contracts and/or agreements
Help with the documentation and closings of financing, asset acquisition, and other large transactions
Maintains repository of contracts of active and inactive contracts, NDAs, addendums, notices, SOWs, attachments, exhibits, etc.
Participates in preparation of due diligences documents
Organizes Board and Committee meetings; helps prepare meeting materials and liaises with board members to ensure all aspects go smoothly; maintains meeting minutes and all administrative items
Complete corporate record keeping, administration, compliance and corporate regulatory filings
Manages all insurance contracts across the business
Establishes and tracks corporate entities and needed filings
Assist with general administrative and special projects support
Post-secondary degree or diploma/certificate with a focus in Law Admin, Paralegal or related field
Minimum 3 years of experience with corporate law and commercial agreements
Excellent business and legal communication skills, both written and verbal
Willing to go “into the unknow”, learn new tasks and take on new challenges
Strong familiarity with and understanding of commercial contracts (tracking and implementation)
Experience with compliance matters an asset
Advanced computer skills, strong working knowledge of MS Office
BSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field an advantage
